Multi level yoga practice to start your day. One hour sequence of alignment based vinyasa with an emphasis on the breath. The classes are structured around a peak pose (crow; camel), or an anatomical focus (spine; feet), or an asana focus (back bends; hip openers), or a theme (energize; anxiety). The practice always ends with final relaxation.
Intro to Ashtanga Vinyasa

Inspired by the Ashtanga Yoga method, this class incorporates postures and vinyasas from the primary and intermediate series. Postures are linked with the breath in a flowing sequence (vinyasas) with cues to the use of the bandhs (energetic and muscular locks) which assist you in moving safely in and out of postures and holding them. The use of props enable practitioners to access the full expression of postures. And, as needed, incorporate modifications of the postures. This class is orchestrated in a fun, energetic and light-hearted way. Yoga should be a celebration of life, a way to express your unique self, and a time to enjoy connecting with mind, body, and spirit.
