About Me
Araceli Silva
Yoga Instructor
My name is Araceli, but some folks know me as Ari. I was introduced to yoga in the early 1980’s to better understand breathing and relaxation techniques in preparation for the birth of my daughter. Soon after, I located the only yoga studio in the city of San Diego (before yoga became as popular as we know it) and became immersed in Asana practice. Despite several relocations, including a a few stints living overseas, I continued to practice while working in luxury retail management in NYC. While coaching my husband on some stretches and postures to help with his injuries, he suggested that I teach yoga.
I completed my teaching certification in 2013 and have been teaching at Shakti Yoga Studio since then. I also teach at Family Connections, a non-profit organization that offer support to families facing many of life’s toughest challenges.
Throughout my yoga journey I have practiced various methods, such as Hatha, Iyengar, Anusara, Shivananda, Jivamukti and most recently, since 2015, I have been dedicated to the Ashtanga Yoga method. I have participated in workshops and classes with Tim Miller, Eddie Stern, Kin MacGregor, and Paramaguru Sharath Jois.
